Hauppauge, NYJoin the fast-paced world of embedded controller design at Microchip, the world's leading embedded controller solutions supplier.As part of our seasoned validation team, you will work on microprocessor-based products that go into tablets, desktops, notebooks, and embedded systems.You will be mentored and work on all phases of IC validation.This includes understanding all product functions from the design specifications, developing software and or hardware to exercise the device, and validating the product functions.You will create and execute validation plans and debug test issues.You will develop and maintain a reusable validation environment, including PCBs, firmware, software, scripts, test results and associated test documentation.You will work closely with architects, designers, and verification engineers.Job RequirementsRequirements:
BS/MS in Electrical or Computer Engineering.Master's degree is a plus.Understanding of embedded microprocessor design and internal architecture. 10
years of experience testing analog circuitry on ASICs.(Required)10
years of experience in programming for Windows and embedded systems using C and C++.10
years of experience with IC validation and test automation.Experience setting up and validating pre-production devices using an FPGA.Understand ASIC design, including architecture and microarchitecture development.Knowledge of personal computer hardware and architecture, I/O subsystems, address decoding, programmable peripheral ICs and keyboard controllers.Ability to read, understand and modify board-level schematics.Strong proficiency using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers and other test equipment.Perl/Python scripting experience.Excellent debugging and problem-solving skills.Experience supporting customers using ASIC devices. Team player attitude.Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to work remotely with cross-functional teams across multiple sites.Willing and capable of comprehending and applying industry standard specifications such eSPI, QSPI, I2C, I3C, USB, SMBus, SPI, MCTP, PECI, PCI, Cryptographic Security functions, CAN, etc.Any of the following skills would be considered a plus:
Understanding of primitive cryptography techniques.Digital Circuit Design with ability to layout boards is highly desirable.System Verilog RTL Design coding is highly desirable.Block and Chip-Level Verification with UVMPre-Silicon FPGA Design EmulationSynthesis and Static Timing AnalysisUse of a version control system, specifically, Perforce version control software.Knowledge of Labview programming and hardware.Embedded programming, specifically using the ARM, ARC and PIC controllers.Industry standards like I2C, I3C, USB, SMBus, SPI, MCTP, PECI, PCI bus and LPC.Working knowledge of Word, Excel, Visual Studio/Visual C, MPLabX.
Salary Range:
$150K -- $200K
Minimum Qualification
Electrical Engineering, Systems Architecture & EngineeringEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
