Mapping Technologist 2 (Region 10)

Duties may include but are not limited to:
o Proficient in ESRI ArcMap GIS and able to coordinate and train new users in ArcMap GIS o Assist in custom map creation o Develop custom regional layers & attribute tables o Collect and process data for GIS maps using ArcMap collector app o Generate reports, perform analyses and utilize toolsets using GIS analysis tools o Coordinate with Main Office GIS section o Assist in development of Public Meeting Graphics/maps/Powerpoint o Responsibilities may include serving a role within the Incident Command System to support the Department's response to regional and statewide emergency situations

Salary Range:
From $66566 to $84450 Annually
Minimum Qualification
To be considered for permanent appointment candidates must be reachable on the current Civil Service eligible list or be eligible or transfer in accordance with Civil Service law. If a viable eligible list does not exist a provisional appointment may be made in accordance with Civil Service Law. Candidates who accept a provisional appointment must take the next competitive examination and be reachable of the resultant eligible list, in order to be considered for a permanent appointment to the position. The minimum requirements for taking the Mapping Technologist 2 examination are:
A bachelor's degree, including or supplemented by 21 semester credit hours in Geographic Information Systems (GIS), surveying, cartography, and/or photogrammetry. You must also have two years of professional experience making recommendations and decisions relating to the selection, planning, and production of mapping projects and independent research and evaluation activities which require the knowledge and application of the technical principles and practices of GIS and/or photogrammetry. Experience limited to Computer Aided Design (CAD) use or GIS user production of thematic overlays to such bas maps or generate system-produced GIS maps will NOT be considered as appropriate experience. You must include, with your application, a transcript or a list of qualifying courses showing the name of the course, the number of semester credit hours, dates of completion, the college or university attended, and whether the course if at the graduate or undergraduate level.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
