Summary:
Responsible for processing daily financial transactions such as deposits, transfers, withdrawals, loan payments, and negotiable items (checks).
Provide extraordinary member service by completing transactions accurately and efficiently.
Emphasis is placed on identifying a member's financial needs and cross-selling the appropriate Teachers products or service to meet that need.
Comply with and review Teachers policies, procedures and guidelines.
Ensures the security of all information related to user names and access to the workstation.
Individual is responsible for accurately performing daily proofs of the virtual teller drawer and negotiable items.
Education/
Experience:
A high school education or GED.
Minimum 1 year general work experience required.
Job
Responsibilities:
Greet members in a courteous, professional manner.
Strengthen member relationships by providing extraordinary member service while accurately and efficiently completing the member's financial transactions.
Superior communication on a video system, interpersonal, customer/member service, mathematical, problem solving, multitasking and computer skills, and detail orientation required.
Ability to speak effectively with an excellent Telephone/Video etiquette.
Processes transactions on both Fiserv DNA and NCR Teller Now systems.
Accountable for verifying the member's identity.
Responsible for securing approval for transactions that are beyond their authority and ensure accuracy of amounts handled.
Required to complete direct posts to General Ledger (GL) for the redemption of coin tickets.
Assists in the daily reconciliation of all coin GL transactions from all associated ITM branches, by reviewing the entries and comparing the tallies of the items sold.
Required to inform the ITM supervisor of any discrepancies and to research them when directed.
Proficiently refers Teachers products and services to members by engaging them in conversation and identifying their financial needs.
Refers member to a Financial Services Representative to complete transactions beyond their authority.
Assists members with account research with regards to lockouts, restrictions and fees.
Required to review all contact management notes for each member.
Communicates with members when balances are below the threshold to avoid account fees.
Safeguards their workstation which includes but not limited to their user names and passwords, virtual teller drawer, and all member sensitive information.
Advises the ITM Supervisor when cash in virtual drawer exceeds the prearranged threshold and when additional cash replenishment is required.
Skillfully balance the virtual drawer daily.
Required to review all checks received, all virtual cash handled and resolve discrepancies.
Assists other Tellers with daily balancing as assigned.
Examine all checks received and compare to known fraudulent members and checks.
Understand the pattern with regards to protecting Teachers against fraudulent rings.
Submit OFAC searches with regards to third-party activity.
Complete transactions for shared branch members by providing extraordinary member service and adhering to the neutrality policy of the CO-OP Shared Branching network.
Required to stay well-informed of and compliant with Teachers policies, procedures, guidelines.
Keeps the ITM Supervisor abreast of activities, conditions and issues.
Audits mobile deposits to ensure accuracy and proper endorsement, approves/discards items as appropriate, and logs discarded items.
Mitigates fraudulent mobile deposit submissions by discarding the suspicious items and submits the check images to the ITM Supervisor.
Trains new ITM Tellers.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
