Program Finance Manager

Summary: This role will report to the Director of Finance and will oversee all activities related to cost accounting and program finance for Cobham Long Island, which shares two locations in Plainview, NY and Hauppauge, NY Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Responsible for ensuring the integrity and accuracy of program cost estimates as well as recording labor rates, inventory accounting, and reserves.  Designs and implements operational procedures and processes that meet audit standards and improve the accuracy and efficiency of the organization. Ensures the accurate compilation, analysis and reporting of accounting data and revenue recognition. Selects, develops, and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.  Applies and analyzes accounting principles on contracts, costs, processes, practices and procedures with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and Cost Accounting Standards (CAS) interpretations. May negotiate rate agreements, provide government regulatory accounting training to company personnel and evaluate company practices for compliance to regulations.  Provides analysis supporting business development activities and monitors business performance by unit, division or brand. Other Duties and Responsibilities: Ensures continued approved status of major business processes and systems required to do business with U.S. Government. Interacts with federal regulatory agencies and internal personnel while investigating and resolving US and foreign government procurement regulatory compliance issues.  Prepares reports of findings and recommendations to management. Supervisory Responsibilities: Will manage a finance team comprised of cost accountants and program finance analysts. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education Experience Requirements: Bachelor's degree or MBA in Accounting, Finance or related field.  5-10 years of experience in Finance. Computer Skills: Must be a proficient user of Microsoft Office software. The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
